After experiencing the first day of fall semester today, I realized how much I loved summer sessions more. Good luck.

Curtains closing....

So we finally did it guys, we finished and hopefully everyone passed the class. The last day was very fun and memorable...my first college class party! It was surprisingly very successful thanks to the coordinators. I hope you guys all do great in the years to come and live out loud -- DREAM BIG!

Better late than never

I just wanted to say thank you all again for sharing and contributing in every way to our class. I hope everyone enjoyed the time we all spent together. Hopefully we could all be classmates again together and good luck to everyone. I'd like to thank you all again and hope to see you all really soon.

Last minute of En-100

I really enjoyed the potluck, and I hope I can see you guys around the campus! The extra credit presentation from Robert "Freedom is not free" is really great! It's about war and army, and my tears almost dropped that time. Other presentation is great as well, I like "you are beautiful" that one very much, too. Keep up the good work my friends! I think you all great in this class. Don't be a stranger if you meet me in the campus, but just come and say hi to me. :)

Mission accomplished!

Today was the last day of our EN100 class and i feel like we ended on a good note. The presentations were very inspiring and the food was great as well. I feel very blessed for meeting each and every one of you( including Dr.Rivera!) and i hope we all move on to bigger and better things! Keep working hard everyone. Don't forget me. (: I'll probably see you all around campus.

Last day of class and starting of EN110

Today is our last day as a class of EN100-04. It was a pleasure knowing each and everyone of you. I had a good time sharing our ideas and thoughts through out Summer Session C. We all gained knowledge from this class thanks to Dr. Rivera, her teaching techniques was pretty easy and self explanatory. To all of you who put in so much time and effort in their extra credit presentation, congrats. Knowing that we had passed this class, I hope we meet again for EN110.

Start of new beginnings :)

It has been a tough, but enjoyable semester! I'm glad to have met all of you. Even if I may have sacrificed my summer break from school, I do not regret taking this class. EN100-04 has definitely made its mark as my first college class. See you around and good luck with all your college endeavors!

The Last Day...

Presentations

I enjoyed today's class. It was nice to hear everyone's poems and extra credit presentations. After doing the special project, I think I developed a new interest for writing poems. I'm not much of a poet, but I find it enlightening to vent.

Today we did an online evaluation on Dr. Rivera, along with hearing some students reading out the poems that they wrote and others presenting their extra credit. Which I find interesting to hear what others have to say and ideas that they had presented, Good job. Tomorrow will be our last day in class. See you tomorrow.

Almost over

So today I finally presented my extra credit project, what a relief! Everyone who presented their poem today did a great job. All the different poems in class were very interesting and creative. Tomorrow is finally the last day of class, this session sure did come by quick! It was nice having Dr. Rivera as a teacher and everyone else in this class.

It's interesting to watch and hear some of our classmates' poems and media quotes. I've travel around the world by Li's short media quote. It's sad that this is the end of our class. I'm going to miss you all. It's really nice to be you guys' classmate!

I did surprisingly well on my final exam. Studying really paid off. (:

Evaluation

This week has been so hectic. I had to come in on Monday, which was an online session, to make up a test. Tuesday was our final exam/presentations. Yesterday was our final moodle session. Today and tomorrow will both be presentation days.

Done.

I can't wait for tomorrow; time to party! So we have a group picture tomorrow, I wonder if we have to "look our best".
I have no more worries since I finished everything including my self asessment since Sunday. I want to know my final grade to release the pressure on my chest...I hope I did good.

Tonight

Tonight, I shall start with my reflection paper.

Reflection

I'm currently working on our final reflection and I'm somewhat disappointed in myself. After taking the final exam I still feel that I didn't get the grade I wanted. Hopefully our extra credit assignment will give me the boost to help me pass this course.

A miracle...

Today I don't know why I feel that I should go to school, and I did. On my way to school, I met a bad driver who drove 25/mph... That really drives me crazy!! And of course because we have class online today, the classroom was locked. I felt like I was tricked by someone (but actually is myself) Anyway, I turned to ELI and chat with my teacher a little bit, and find out it will be closing ceremony next week on Thursday. Suddenly, I know why I came here because God told me so. By attending the closing ceremony to say good bye to everyone I know. It was so amazing because I found out there's a car accident beside the road where I was blocked by the other car. Maybe God trying to tell me that "drive slowing and safely." I was blessed, and feeling much better now. By the way, hopefully everyone would enjoy my presentation yesterday. I felt like I mess up this time... The pictures was so bright that different from viewing at my computer. Anyway, can't wait for Friday to come. I'll meet you guys later in moodle room.

What a day...

So today I presented my poems and my short story. I was nervous that they would suck and be highly criticised...well I can't read thoughts so maybe they were. After class Dr. Rivera said I should become an author which was a great compliment to hear.

I am now finished with all my work and should be happy, but I'm not, my girlfriend moves offisland for college in 7 hours and I can't sleep...

Final and Special Project

Today was pretty good, hearing different kinds of poems and a short story read by Victor. Thoughts and ideas that were made by each and everyone of us were pretty interesting. I do know that when they were read, it caught my attention and touched my heart one way or the other.

Final Exam!!

The First of the Month

I took test 2 today, and not too fond of my grade. I also typed out my poems and saved it on my usb, now I have to print it out at the computer lab tomorrow. I'm so tired after a long, just when I thought I was done with my assignments. Hello!! Extra credit and the final reflection essay is due.

The most packed week of my life!!!

I'm playing on two volleyball teams, both of which are in finals, go to school in the morning, work at night, drill weekend, fireman interview and it's only Monday. I forgot how being extremely busy can be exhausting. Well, I'm writing my poems now, hopefully it's good enough for tomorrow =/ good luck everyone...it's our last night to work hard for English, so lets make it count!!!

the clock is ticking

There's about twelve more hours before the final exam and I'm taking notes and reviewing as well as trying finish our other assignments. Final Exam

It's past the dead line to change my mind whether to take the final exam or not. I'm still striving for that "A" I just really have to do well on the final exam and do the extra credit assignment as well. If only our potluck was an assignment as well. For example the more food we bring the higher your grade will be. Just a thought.

Crazy Friday

Today was one of the most craziest Fridays I ever had in my life. I had two tests today and also tons of errands and work. I guess that's life. Hoping I did well on our last test.

I finally came to a decision (thanks to Shani and Rob)! I've chosen to work on the special project instead of the final exam. There's no more turning back. Right now, I'm listening to music to help give me the inspiration to write poems. I'm not much of a poet, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one. Closing in fast!

It's Friday which means we have about 3 more days of class left! I'm pretty excited about today's test, but the fill in the blank questions were just mind bottling. I was very confused as there was not much information given for me to know what was being talked about. I guess that means I need to comprehend more on what I read. I hope everyone did great on this test!

I also liked how we got to write our own quote of inspiration!

Not satisfied

I'm studying at the moment for test#4. I hope I do better than the previous test. My results were quite disappointing. The test continues to surprise me. I definitely need to read the book more diligently.

Results of Test 3

I'm really disappointed in myself regarding test #3. The grade that I had received is considered "failure". So in that case I'm going to do the special project, and extra credit. I will pass this class with an A, and will not accept anything lower. I will maintain a positive attitude, and have faith in what I do. If I have to strive to get to where I want in life, I can and will do it; I got this.

It's really hard to decide which should I take: test or the project.
I'm not really good at test, but the project seems hard as well. I'm really stress out!

Today!

Today we went over chapter 15 and 16. It was akward for me to learn, due to the test tomorrow and the final exam on Tuesday. I hate feeling so pressured to pass. Good luck to all of you.

Today's test was really mind boggling. I don't think I did as well as our other two tests. We still have one more test and a final exam, if we decide to do it. Good luck everyone; we all need it.

Today's lesson

Comparing my last test grade with my new one, I can see I have to amp up my studying time. Our lesson today was pretty interesting, hopefully I remember what we learned today when our final exam comes around.

Tuesday

I didn't do so well on yesterday's test and we have another test tomorrow..

We went over chapter 13 today, it was about compare and contrast. I think it's just the commercial world out there that makes girls like pink and boys like blue. I have three brothers and that basic fact interested me in trucks and water guns at a young age. That was a while back, though.

Hm...I need to allocate more of my time towards this class

Just finished the test and I don't think I did as well as I did from test #1. I hope I can bring my grade back up after this horrid test.

Whoop whoop...another day where I see faces!!!

We went through Chapter 13 and it was a blast. My personal assistant was funny, the class was funny, and just in general, today was funny. It's a good day for me! Too bad though, it's coming to end. Hopefully I could hang with the others after the semester is done, but more than likely everyone is going to do their own thing. So it's great that we have a good bye party...by which, I'm co-something to it. EVERYONE...don't forget to give me the dough ;)

Today I did some reading on Chapter 11 about the cause and effect. I also did some reviewing of the other chapters to refresh my memory. I feel pretty confident for test 2 on chapters 5 and 6. Hopefully I do well!

Busy

Sorry for not posting or replying for awhile. Some workers called in sick or are on their vacation and my manager asked me to cover up for some of them. I'm trying to stay on track. Time should tick just a little slower.

School...it torments me, but it's good for me. Making my rounds on Blogger and it's good to see that people are still posting. Good job guys!!! I've always kept up my, "Study Group" thing, but everyone tends to sleep in. Process Analysis

Today I read the chapter "Process Analysis". And, I keep using it but without knowing it. It's good to understand more in detail that the thing I already been doing it. The example of the essay is interesting as well. I didn't know that I should sharpen a knife before using it. It's a interesting information that I would like to know.

I miss the classroom/computer lab! I try to keep myself focused at home, though.

My first test and today's lesson.

Surprisingly, I got a "B" on my test. It was not too hard, but still quite challenging. Thank goodness for that extra credit that helped boost my grade higher. On the other hand, we today's lesson was interesting, as usual. It's nice to go over subjects that were fading away in my mind. The exercises are real helpful with my learning experiencing.

I studied the day of our test. Thanks to Rob he tested me. I was impressed on what I soaked into my brain in 30 minutes or less. Moodle Sessions

I found out that study at home isn't easier than what I thought before. I actually spent more time on the book and try to find the best answer and response. It's even harder because nobody explain to you what the true meaning is at the book. It's only me or somebody else feel the same way?

I just noticed, we have moodle sessions all throughout next week! I'm getting the hang of these online sessions :) Hmm...I might just consider taking some online courses later on.

Today we thoroughly went over many topics today. We made our outlines and created a short paragraph following the outline. Keep the information coming so I can effectively write a great essay.

The Pace Is Moving...

Breath in through the nose, out through the mouth...just keep going! Everything is being done to keep up, but one misstep, I'll be playing catch up! Doing good so far, I CAN do this!

The Writing Process

In yesterdays class, it was based on the topic of the writing process. We discussed the 3 different types of stages. In one of the exercises you had to freewrite about a topic that you chose. Freewriting makes me a more effective essay writer because it helps me brainstrom through ideas of topics. I enjoyed class that day, it helped refresh my memory about the basics of writing and starting an essay.

First Week at en100

My first week was very fulfilling and successful. I hope that I will learn more while having fun in this class.

All the exercises we went through today were very interesting and made me more confident in writing papers. Free writing before composing my essay let's the juices of ideas flow through seamlessly. Great review day

Fun, fun, fun!!

Today seemed very normal, we read a lot as usual. Most of the time when reading I tend to get sleepy, but surprisingly I didn't fall asleep today which was very fortunate :)

It's awesome!

I finally can get into the point of the lesson quicker than before. I think it's because we use different classroom. It's really hard to concentrate without facing the teacher. I enjoyed the class today because I learned a lot about writing a thesis. It's always hard for me to write those sentence, but now I get it! I'm really happy about it. And I really appreciated the classmate who sat next to me that encourage me to rise my hand in the class. I will be braver next time! :P

Classroom

Today's class was fun, I enjoy learning in the classroom vs. the computer lab. The computer lab is very distracting. Besides that computers in front of you, the tables are not facing the front. I find it difficult to learn when you are not facing/looking at the teacher. The lesson was pretty simple. I was actually familiar with all the exercises we covered.

I'm looking forward to Monday's moodle session. Goodnight everyone!

Today we learned two stages out of three of the writing process. With stage one of the writing process it consist of strategies that can help, which is freewriting, brainstorming, clustering, and gathering information. Stage two of the writing process deals with writing the controllong idea as a topic (for paragraphs) and thesis (for essays). Along with organizing support that also has listing, clustering, and outlining.

I'm in for a long run with this class. I enjoy dealing with numbers but when it comes to essays; I better work 10 times harder in this class in order to move forward for my other classes.

The writing process showed me new methods before writing an essay such as listing and clustering. Before all I knew was brainstorming, with today's discussion I think I'll be able to use the writing process more effectively.

Today's class

Today's class makes me feel that this is really different from the ELI class. I hardly can follow the tempo of it. Hopefully this problem could be solved by reviewing after school. I really need a lot of practice of reading and writing.

Reflection of todays activity

Today was my first day in EN100 class, and we did a a lot of reading. I already know this summer session is going to be really busy.

Day 2

Today was very interesting. I haven't review today's topics since middle school. Also learning about the mannerisms of the internet was quite intriguing to me cause momma never taught me internet manners. Today was informative and fun.

Class Discussion

Today was very interesting, we discussed about underlining, annotating, outlining, and summarizing. It helped me remember the very little details that I have forgotten.

Reflection

Another day of learning. A lot of reading was done today...it was very insightful. In general, today's lesson was about doing forms of outlines, underlining, using references and ways to write on the internet. I was confused on the most part, but after the discussions, I was able to piece everything later =)

Class Discussion

Interestingly on what I had learned today. Knowing that I am currently working on two essays it's a perfect time for me to revise my assignments.

First Day

Today was the first time I attended college on Guam. The atmosphere is way different compared to the colleges in the Philippines. I'm looking forward to a fun semester with everyone!!!

First Day of Class

I'm not a blogger but I will get used to it. If it's needed to pass this class and move forward to other courses, I got it. On the other hand, excited to learn more in this class.

My first day at En100 at University of Guam

Today we discussed our syllabus by going around the room and reading our syllabus.....I was kind of nervous and reading the syllabus kind of made me confident and made me feel more part of the class. In my introduction I introduced myself and told everyone my major which is in psychology. Hoping I don't forget to blog, I will remind myself daily to blog twice a week....I hope during this Summer to learn the bridges of writing to go off to EN110! Wish me luck!
